<div itemprop="description">George passed away suddenly of a stroke, on Saturday January 14th, 2017, at the age of 81. Dear brother to Stanley of Hagersville, ON. Loving father of Linda Ludlow (Phil), Donna Smythe (Don), Brenda Rantz (Rick) and Michael Petetski. Cherished grandfather of Katrina Ludlow, Meredith Ludlow (Paul Koski), Megan Rantz; and great-grandfather of Matti and Kaila Koski. <br> <br>Born in Hagersville, Ontario on January 11, 1936 to Tony and Catharina. Retired Master Warrant Officer of 38 years, Para Rescue Specialist, Explosive Ordnance and Devices Disposal Specialist, Deputy EOD Chief HDHQ R&D Coordinator resulted in the development of a remotely operated vehicle for bomb disposal use. First Aid Instructor, Resorption RCL handyman and past Chairman of the Sailing Yacht Canada Restoration Project. Valued volunteer at St. Pat’s Nursing Home and the Shepherds of Good Hope. Former Scout leader and softball umpire. Long-time member of the Knights of Columbus, past Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. He has been a long time member of the Royal Canadian Legion – Strathcona 595 and a Foster Child Sponsor. Devoted Rosary Program volunteer, Extraordinary Minister and long-time volunteer at Holy Cross Church. George’s final act of service was as an organ donor. <br> <br>Friends may pay respects at Kelly Funeral Home, Walkley Chapel, 1255 Walkley Road, Ottawa, ON K1V 6P9, 613-731-1255 Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Funeral on Friday, January 20th, at Holy Cross Church, 685 Walkley Road, Ottawa, at 10:45 a.m. Reception to follow. In Memoriam donations to the Shepherds of Good Hope appreciated.</div>
