<div itemprop="description">SULPHER, James C. <br /> <br />Suddenly on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at the Ottawa Heart Institute, at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband of 64 years to Roberta (nee Perreault). Loving father of the late Jimmy (2013) (Marion), Deborah, Francis (Carmen), Larry (Evelyn), Stephen (Toni), Leslie (Sharon), and John (Jan). Cherished and proud Grandfather of 21 Grandchildren and 37 Great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Edmond, Norman, and predeceased by Ernest, Doreen, Raymond, Rita, Elizabeth, Bernie, Carl, Ronnie, Rose Larmont, and Phil. He will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends. <br /> <br />James was born in Renfrew to the late Phil and Anastasia (nee Lapinski). In 1950 he founded J. C. Sulpher Construction. He was a founding member of Saint Bernard Parish, spent five years as a member of the Catholic School Board and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus with Council 485 (Rosemont Avenue). A past president of the Ottawa South Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a current board member at Rotel. James was a longtime member of the Ottawa Hunt Club. <br /> <br />Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, Walkley Chapel, 1255 Walkley Road, Ottawa (613-731-1255) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass Friday at Saint Bernard Roman Catholic Parish at 11:00 a.m. Cremation with inurnment Saint Bernard Cemetery at a later date. <br /> <br />As an expression of sympathy donations to the James Sulpher Jr. Endowment for Kidney Research, c/o 737 Parkdale Avenue, First Floor, Ottawa, Ontario, K1Y 1J8 may be made in James&rsquo; memory.</div>
